Dev Log #1 - Scope Creep and Sanity Check

So… this is my first time making a game of this magnitude.

By “magnitude,” I mean… I accidentally made a spreadsheet to track my spreadsheets. I’ve made the average small game, a few prototypes, and once I was on a team that released a mobile game—but nothing like what I’m attempting now.

It started simple.
“Let’s make a little game,” I said.
“Something small,” I said.
Next thing I know, there are JSON files talking to Godot scripts, and I’m emotionally attached to the debug log.

But honestly? I’m having a blast.

There’s something magical about watching a weird idea turn into something playable. Even if, sometimes, it’s held together by duct tape, coffee, and one line of code I’m too afraid to touch.

Scope creep is real, y’all…
But so is the fun.

I’ll be sharing updates as I keep building, breaking, and rebuilding this thing. I think it’s going to be worth it.

The scary part? Trying to get people to notice. I used to believe that if you make something good, people will notice...but there are too many good things out there. It’s hard to find a unique niche.  I'm horrible with the social media thing.  I recently started streaming making this on Twitch.  I would appreciate any support from anyone at all!

This idea has been in my head for years. I’ve tried to make it in several different engines with no success. I’m not really a programmer; usually, I handle art, music, and sound. But here I am, learning as I go.

And honestly, all my eggs are in one basket. I’m really depending on finishing this game and having it at least somewhat successful so I can… you know, live a normal adult life. I’m endlessly grateful to my friends who’ve given me a safe place to work on this project. Without them, I’d probably be starving on the streets.

My hope? Just a drop of success, enough to give back to those who’ve helped me along the way. That’s what matters most. Making this project fun for players is important, but giving back to the people who supported me is even more so.

So yeah… here we go. Let’s see where this wild ride takes us!
